Dixie Friend Gay, Shadows of Truth |
November 22, 1963, I was in two-room country grade school in rural Oklahoma. The installation, "Shadows of Truth" is my reactions to the emotions that are flooding our lives. The boiling caldron of denial, tribulation, terror, turmoil, rage, despair, desperation, the re-evaluation of life, hopes and prayer, mixed with my personal experiences of a fundamentalist bible childhood, living and working in Manhattan, traveling in the mid-east, and the ongoing studies of sacred symbols and comparative religion contributed to this work. |
