I took this photo this past July 2001 from the Hudson River Park for a project "Summer in the City." I had set out to chronicle city life in the summer from children's activities, summer events in NYC, to traditional symbols of summer. The end result wound up being my interpretation of summer in New York: an artificial, surreal and sometimes oppressive paradise. |
