After witnessing the burning and collapse of the World Trade Towers from the window of my studio, I had an overwhelming desire to work on my paintings, and I painted these two hands. I have been working on a series of hand prints and had barely started these. I finished them spontaneously, without any conscious message; though looking at them now, they express the fear and pain that I and many others have been feeling. |
