In April of 2000 an unexplainable image came to me that New York City had been attacked and was burning out of control. I told a friend about this and she commissioned me to paint the image I had described to her. At the time this image seemed completely impossible despite the fearful feeling I had during the time I worked on the painting. On the morning of September 11, 2001 I had a call from my friend telling me that what I had painted was really happening! I turned on the T.V. just in time to see the second jet crash into the World Trade Center.

Fortunately my image of the city burning did not happen. However the thought behind the painting did. I share this image today to show what could have happened had the New York Fire Department, Police Department and scores of volunteers not been there to do the magnificent job they did and continue to do. I am also sharing this painting to tell of the creative process; which sometimes can have a foreboding gift of prophecy
