From the Press Release

Heidi Cho Gallery is pleased to present our second show of the season entitled. Precious. November 19 - December 30, 2009. Pre-cious/adj. 1) Of an object, substance, or resource of great value, not to be wasted or treated carelessly: precious works of art. 2) Greatly loved or treasured by someone. Ten artists each with their own distinct vision unite to give voice to their obsession with making precious works of art.

Nina Meledandri has said "Color is the corner stone of my work, it answers so many questions for me, it conveys meaning, and creates mysteries." The work is embodied by two of the artist's greatest passions: color and process. Ever present in the work are references to nature in the rocks, shells, and biomorphic shapes that inhabit the pictorial plane. Her underlying repetitive marks speak to the scope of human experience, from despair to hope.
